At the end of a long night of gathering sugary treats, little ghouls and goblins need a more fulfilling snack to replenish all that energy lost in the inevitable sugar crash.
White Hot Chocolate
For one serving: Color 6 ounces milk with orange food coloring and pour into a saucepan. Set the pan over medium heat and simmer until bubbles appear around the edges. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 1-2 teaspoons shaved or chopped white chocolate. Stir until chocolate melts. Sift cocoa powder over hot chocolate before serving.
Note: As an alternative to scalding the milk in a pan, you can use a milk frother to heat it and easily create a delightfully frothy texture.
Yogurt Pops
Color vanilla yogurt (regular or Greek) with orange food coloring. Get creative if you wish and add a swirl of black food coloring or even layer yellow- and orange-colored yogurt with plain to create a candy corn pattern.
Spoon the mixture into your favorite molds (like this adorable mini pop mold) or ice cube trays and freeze until firm. If using ice cube trays, insert a wooden popsicle stick into each “pop” before freezing.
